I believe we may
see some cracks in the self-delusion of the NAACP. For much too long,
this group of glorified thugs has bullied black people into compliance.
If the exaulted NAACP said it, it was deemed to be gospel. Don't
you dare speak against them, they're fighting the good fight for your people.
That's how the tourism boycott against South Carolina
came about. As a way of flexing it's muscles, the association cajoled
blacks nationwide into avoiding the state until the Confederate flag was
removed from the Statehouse. Along with the thousands of families
that would vacation elsewhere, went athletic and entertainment events,
since their parent organizations would never want to appear less than sensitive
to the plight of the black race.
It has been a costly battle with lots of innocent
victims. Many of them black. Tourism is a major industry, and
millions of dollars have been diverted from the citizens of South Carolina,
not the lawmakers.
Now, the flag is coming down. That's not a minor
thing when you consider the history involved. SC was the first state
to leave the union in the Civil War. Thousands of their men and boys
died, and there's a definate reverence for their forebears. So a
compromise had to be forged. In return for removal, the wicked flag
will now be part of a War memorial nearby.
It's down, and all is well across the land.
Uh, well no, we have been dealing with the N-double-A-C-P. I can
just imagine the panic when word reached their leaders. Shear terror.
We won! Now what? Let's drop the boycott, let's stop punishing
innocent people, let's be true to our word. Naah. If we let
folks do what they want, we'll be unnecessary. We can't have that.
So now the heat is back on, and the boycott crawls
on...or does it? Suddenly we are seeing independent will develop
within the ranks of our black citizens. Notice I refrained from using
the idiotic term "Black Community", there is no such thing anymore than
there's a "White Community". Opportunists such as the National
Association for the Advancement of Colored People is doing a great disservice
to black Americans.
They're not helping them, they're using them to further
their own power schemes. And now we see signs that others may agree.
Take the Memorial Day Bike Fest in Atlantic Beach, South Carolina.
Several thousand Black bikers enjoyed snarling traffic, disturbing the
peace and generally having a great time, in total defiance of the NAACP
ban.
Oh my God. How dare they have free will, how
dare they enjoy the fruits of liberty? How dare they disobey the
will of the "Black Community"? Oh, that's right, they ARE part of
that community.
It's possible that the power gluttons in the Assoc
have gone to the boycott well once too often. Take the proposed ban
on Blacks drinking Coca Cola products. A group of ex-Coke employees
claimed discrimination in hiring, salaries and promotions.
Of course, they were black, and that was the sole
basis of their shabby treatment. So naturally, a boycott was proposed.
And then promptly ingnored. I personally staked out the local 7-11
last Sunday afternoon, just about the time Church services were over.
A steady stream of well-dressed thirsty black patrons came through.
Many chose Coke products, apparently unconcerned by
the ban. But the vast majority didn't. They were buying malt
liquor. So maybe the NAACP royalty should wake up.
They're not exactly a relevant force to the average
Black American. If they want to do something to prove their worth,
find a way to end the dispair many young black men feel. Find a way
to lead them into a meaningful, honorable lifestyle, and away from the
pervading culture of criminality.
Don't talk to me about black on black crime...it's
terrible, but no worse than black on white crime. The fact remains
that an entire generation of our children have grown up completely oblivious
to basic concepts of honesty and kindness.
THAT should be the focus of the NAACP. If they
manage to abolish their greed and egomania, they might actually live up
to the concepts expressed in their name. If that happens, I promise
I will join. |
