Bluenose
Everyone
knows violent TV, movies, video games and music videos are contributing
to the lack of compassion in many young people these days. Everyone
knows that. Certainly both the Democrats and Republicans do.
Sen.
Joe Lieberman and Lynne Cheney were guest speakers at the Senate hearings
on the matter. They don't like it one bit. That's why they
want to censor Eminem and anyone else who dares to yell something that
someone somewhere may find offensive. It's true that many Rap "songs"
are based on hatred of police, racism, violence toward women, and a general
outlaw attitude. That's their hook, their unique selling position
that pays for the hottub hostess in the limo.
In
the process, they've been destroying the fabric of American society, according
to the Senate committee members. These wisemen would like to
bleep out those nasty and annoying sort of things, to regulate what you
can see, to protect all of us and keep us pure, for our own good.
Those Nazis and Communists had the right idea. Control the flow of
information and you control the people. And after all, most of us
are too stupid to make our own decisions anyway.
We
need the benevolent government guiding and leading us from cradle to grave.
The hell with the Constitution and all that old timey patriotic stuff.
That was ok for the prehistoric days before the internet and vcr's.
It's
difficult to argue that exposure to thousands of murders, muggings and
robberies does tend to normalize criminal behavior in the minds of many
impressionable kids. So many of them grow up with very little adult
supervision, and lots of TV and video game carnage. Maybe that's
why so many young criminals find comfort in the shadows.
Like
the students who ran amock at a football game in Decatur, Illionis.
You saw it over and over again on the news. These guys savagely and
brutally abused members of the crowd for no reason at all, and it was all
captured on video tape. Open and shut case. These guys are
outta here, expelled from school for two years, later reduced to one year,
and the opportunity to continue in alternative schools.
All
very generous, thanks to Jesse Jackson who took up their cause as another
example of the man's grand scheme of oppression. Thanks to the shade
of their skin, the good Reverend obtusely jumped to their defense, decrying
the zero tolerance for mob violence. That's all old news.
The
story today is about the success these fine upstanding young men have been
enjoying since then. They successfully managed to end up in police
custody, charged with robbery. One of them has even been arrested
twice before now for amazingly, assault and battery. He seemed like
such a good boy. They were just misunderstood. It's not their
fault, they were under the influence of the Jerry Springer show.
Yeah, that's it.
Jesse,
confiscate thier remotes. |
