Bushwhacking the Presidency
All of you who have called
for Gore to concede, suggests to me that you are too willing to lay down
your most basic right under our constitution and embrace Federalism. Gore
won the Presidency, Gore knows it, Bush knows it and so does the rest of
the world.
Instead of being allowed
to elect our President, the Republican appointed Federalist judges in the
United States Supreme Court interfered with our states' rights and our
constitutional rights. They cannot change the rules to an election after
the election has already taken place. Not even the state can do that.
Insisting on one uniform
standard for the entire state that has never had a standard other than
discerning voters intent is trying to change state election laws after
the election has already taken place. Why should these partisan judges
be the final deciding factor, it was a 5-4 ruling.
Is it ok for them to use
this democratic principle of the majority rule when the people are being
denied this same Rule of Law. The USSC is violating the constitution by
blocking votes from being counted and disenfranchising the majority of
the American peoples right to vote and have our vote counted. This is not
Democracy, this is dictatorship.
Bush was not elected by the
people, he was chosen by partisan judges who participated from the very
beginning, in a scheme to run out the clock so that the votes could not
be counted in time for them to be certified.. The USSC has blatantly abused
it's power and disgraced it's office and the integrity of the justice system.
These judges should be removed from office for conspiring to usurp the
presidential election the will of the majority.
Their ruling has violated
the most basic fundamental rights of the people and placed it in the hands
of a few partisan politicians. With our nation already divided the only
sound reason Gore would have for conceding was because his own base was
divided over conceding. or fighting to the finish. Gore has no desire to
win if it means putting our nation into a crisis that could hurl us into
a civil war. Bush only cared about winning at all cost. Gore cares about
this country and hates to see it divided but what can one man do without
the unification of his party strongly behind him.
Gore cares about the people,
the environment and the economy. We may have to retreat from this battle
but the war between Federalism and Democracy is a long way from being over.
All you third party members, if you believe in democracy then get behind
the Democratic Party. We must first establish a democracy before we can
reform it.
We need your strength and
willingness to fight for democracy. Work to bring about change from within
the Democratic party rather than dividing into splinter groups that only
weaken each other. United we stand, divided we fall. Let's all stand together,
united in our goal to bring about democracy and we will prevail.
Bush can forget about giving
his rich friends a tax break, the first thing on the table will be election
reform, more accurate voting machines and standardized ballots . The states'
rights to rig elections will soon be a thing of the past. Hopefully then,
there will be no more candidates bushwhacking their way into the
White House.
