The Legacy Of William
Jefferson Clinton (abbreviated)
1991: Almost everyone
in America assumes that George Bush will easily be reelected. Democrats
were being charged with not even putting up any solid competition. Southern
Governor named Bill Clinton joins race...so what. Despite Jennifer Flowers,
Draft Dodging, pseudo-pot smoking, and serious questions about his character,
Clinton inherits title "Come-back-Kid" and becomes democratic presidential
nominee.
Unlucky for Bush, he had
one of the worst run presidential campaigns ever and he, a classic back-room
dealer, didn't have the personality, the quickness-of-mind, or the mastery
of mass communications, especially television, that Clinton possessed.
Result: Clinton establishes
himself as a master politician and moves into the WHITE HOUSE.
1994: Clinton's attempts
at leadership during his first years prove disastrous to the democratic
party as both houses of Congress go under Republican Control. The New political
KING, Gingrich, and his right-wing Republican supporters declare that William
Jefferson Clinton is Irrelevant.
Obviously, they forgot about
"The Come Back kid." In a master stroke of political genius, Clinton steals
the Republican Platform, repaints it with moderate democratic rhetoric,
and offered it to the American People, as a democratic program. The public
loves it and gives full credit to President Clinton.
Suddenly, the irrelevant
president is relevant-- "The Come Back Kid" has struck again. 1994 through
1998: Republican strategists, pollsters, and supporters had a field day
predicting that it was only a matter of time before Clinton is done in
by the likes of

Whitewater
-
Filegate
-
Travelgate
-
Chinagate
-
Campaign problems
-
Duplicity in the Vince Foster
death
-
A hand in the death of Secretary
Ron Brown
And lots of other things that
so many were so sure would bring down the presidency of "The COME BACK
KID."
1998: The result of
countless hours and dollars spent in investigating the Clintons more thoroughly
than any other two people have ever been investigated comes up with NOTHING.
That, in itself, was quite impressive.
However, enter Monica Lewinski
and company and suddenly the dispirited far right is rejuvenated claiming
for the umteenth time that CLINTON is finished for sure now. In spite of
looking directly into the camera and lying to the American public, the
public opinion polls for a year remain constant with the American peoples
overwhelming desire to have Clinton remain in office.
In a stunning set back, the
republican's lose seats in congress when they were expected to gain 15
to 60. Gingrich is gone, discarded by the very people he lead to Republican
victory. The House, against the will of the AMERICAN PEOPLE, votes in partisan
to Impeach Clinton and his popularity goes up five percent..absolutely
AMAZING.
But, then again, this is
"THE COME BACK KID."
The future: Upon leaving
office Clinton will go on to become the greatest political fund raiser
in American Political History, rasing hundreds of millions of dollars for
the democratic party.
He will be the most sought
after speaker on the circuit and will make scores of millions of dollars
in the process. Clinton will be the POLITICAL GOD of the Democratic Party
and will be the one person that most who aspire to high public office,
on the Democratic side, will want to have access to for political insight
and support.
He will campaign for many
and will be the one most will seek. He will remain a political force to
be dealt with, much more so than past x-presidents, and his wife may well
win high public office herself.
The Impeachment of William
Jefferson Clinton will actually had very little effect on his legacy. Heck,
if contemporary America doesn't care about it, why would people in the
distant future? In reality, breaking the entire process down to the basic
element of America- the allmighty buck- this entire affair will actually
prove to be of great benefit to the President as it has made him forever
a favorite of the American Public and that equates into the BIG, BIG, BUCKS.
Three hundred years from
now, William Jefferson Clinton's name will be throughout the history books.
He will be, amoung other things, regarded as the greatest politician in
American history up to his time. The names of Barr, Gingrich, Hyde, Lott,
and others of the republican far-right, who tried unsuccessfully to remove
him from office, will all be classified under the title "extreme right-wing
religious zealots of the time"-- their actual names know only to historians,
as time will simply wash them from public consciousness.
But, William Jefferson Clinton
will forever become a part of American Folklore. Never, ever, bet against
a person who is known as "The Come Back Kid"
