He is a Certified Employee Assistance Professional, a Certified Addictions Counselor II, and a Certified Substance Abuse Professional. His professional accomplishments include developing one of the largest Employee Assistance Programs in South Carolina, initiating an Emergency Response Team to counsel families, victims and emergency workers at tragic accident/crime sites, and helping to establish and serving on the Threat Management Team for over 40 companies. 

Russ has provided training on numerous human and organizational development topics to over 1900 companies in North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia.  He has served on the board of directors of numerous agencies, on the Impaired Healthcare Executives Committee for the SC Hospital Association, the Governors State Plan Task Force for Alcohol and Drug Abuse, and is currently serving as District Director – Upstate for the SC State Council of the Society of Human Resource Managers SHRM.
